Eight athletes — four softball and four baseball — signed with universities both in and out of state during a ceremony Wednesday at the Port Neches-Groves High School competition gym.
Signing for baseball were: Josh Hranicky (Lamar University); Holden Lane (Texas Southern University); Brandon Petix (Alvin Community College) and Austin Bost (Panola College).
Signing for softball were: Kaitlyn Boudreaux (Stephen F. Austin University); Britni Hunt (Angelo State University); Callie Jourdan (Ouachita Baptist University); and Brooke Smith (Lamar State College-Port Arthur).
In all, ten athletes from three different high schools signed national letters of intent to play at nine different colleges and universities during ceremonies across Southeast Texas on Wednesday.
Central High School track and field standout Maya Kelly signed to run for Troy University during a ceremony at Austin Middle School.
Silsbee senior Jackson Hardy signed to play baseball for Angelo State University.
