Brandon Faircloth put the order in for a grey alternative uniform color scheme during two-a-days. On Monday, the Indians got them in time for the start of district play, which begins Friday at home against Baytown Lee.
The grey PN-G helmets and pants are a tribute to the 1953 state championship team. Senior running back Brant Halfin said the team learned the history Monday afternoon before receiving the new gear right before practice.
The Indians will wear it this Friday night with purple jerseys.
The helmets are a completely new set, as opposed to painting over the usual white ones. In addition, the facemask is changed from the two-tone purple and white to grey and the chinstrap is purple.
