Port Neches-Groves coach Brandon Faircloth decided to promote from within to replace defensive coordinator Duane Kroeker, who left for a coaching position in Central Texas.
Ryan Cox, the linebackers coach and Dustin Templin, the secondary coach, will share the defensive play calling responsibilities and be co-defensive coordinators.
Faircloth also hired Dustin Weisinger, who was a junior high coach for Austin Westlake while Faircloth was there, as secondary coach to work alongside Templin.
That position came open when Jake Lefort left to go into private business.
