Last night against Dayton, PN-G junior quarterback Adam Morse broke two school records on his way to a 34-of-47 performance with 4TD passes and 354 yards.
1) Single-game completions: Morse surpassed Brennan Doty’s mark of 32 from 2010
2) Touchdown passes in a season: Morse finishes the year at 31, which edges Doty’s 29 from 2010
3) Most points scored in a season by an individual: Morse has 40 touchdowns on the season (31 passing, 9 rushing) for 240 points. That shatters Jeff Bergeron’s mark of 200 in 1971.
In addition to these three, Morse already set the bar for passing yards in a game (384 against Clear Lake) and tied the record for passing touchdowns in a game (6 against Clear Lake)
He unofficially finishes the season with 2,900 yards passing, which is just 187 yards shy of Dustin Long’s 3,087 yards in 1999, but that was done in 16 games.
As a team, the Indians finish with 447 points scored this season. By comparison, the 10-0 squad of 2010 had 485.
On offense, PN-G loses running back Brant Halfin and wide out Kaleb Sparks, but will bring back Morse, Keynel McZeal, Caisen Sullivan, a healthy Jack Giblin, as well as backs Kody Cropper and Jace Runnels.
