Gordon Ellis LeBoeuf, 72, beloved father and grandfather entered into his Lord’s presence on December 10, 2009 at Odyssey House, a Hospice facility in Conroe, Texas. He fought a long and difficult battle with congestive heart failure. Mr. LeBoeuf was born on October 8, 1937 in Port Neches, Texas. He had returned to Port Neches, the hometown he dearly loved, several years ago, but moved back to Houston, Texas last spring to be closer to his children. Mr. LeBoeuf graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 1956 where was a standout football player. He played on two State Championship teams (1953 and 1955), and was a State finalist in 1954. He won All-State honors three consecutive years (1953, 1954, and 1955) while leading the State in rushing in 1955 with 2150 yards. Today that mark still stands as the single season rushing record at PNG, and before his passing, he made it known to us that he was very proud to own that record. His 1,659 yard total in 1954 continues to hold third place among the All-time leaders. He was a High School All-American in 1955. Following high school, Gordon played college football for Coach “Bear” Bryant at Texas A and M, where he won All Southwest Conference honors. He was drafted by the New York Titans of the AFL in 1960. He remained a devoted Texas A and M “Aggie” fan his entire life. Mr. LeBoeuf received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A and M University in 1960 and continued graduate studies at both Texas A and M and University of Houston. He spent the majority of his career working in the executive search and management consulting field. Prior to his professional recruiting career, he was in national marketing management with Pfizer Pharmaceutical. Mr. LeBoeuf was responsible for opening and managing the Houston office for one of the top four Executive Search firms in the world. He also founded Carter/Bryant, Inc. in Houston, Texas and served as the corporation’s president. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he was Senior Principal for King Chapman Broussard and Gallagher. He also served as a Director for Price Waterhouse, responsible for establishing a retained search practice for the United States. We are very proud of him for all of his accomplishments and enjoyed the quality time we were able to spend with him at the end of his life. We will forever remember the brave battle he fought and consider it a privilege to have been a help to him during this difficult time. We would like to thank our extended family and our mother for helping us and showering our father with their love, and for the relief they provided for us by spending time with him, especially during his last six weeks. He very much enjoyed his family and appreciated each act of compassion bestowed upon him. We would also like to thank the caregivers at Odyssey House hospice facility, who prayed with us and took excellent care of our father. Serving as pallbearers will be Zachary James Hardoin, Leonard James Hardoin, and David James Kennard of Houston, Texas, Trey Maurice Little III and Aaron Jacob Smith of Ridgeland, Mississippi and Cole Michael LeBoeuf of Port Neches, Texas.
