Two Towns. One Dream.

December 16, 2023, the Port Neches-Groves Indians won their fourth state football championship in the almost 100 year history of the school.

Entering the game as the clear underdogs to the 2022 state champions, the Indians held their opponent to 128 yards and 17 points.

A late game score and dominating 4th quarter defense sealed the win for the 2022 state finalist and 2023 state champion Indians.

The small communities of Port Neches and Groves claimed a victory over an open enrollment, Dallas ISD school that benefits from the best players across the 150,000 student population as well as transfers from other districts.

Dallas ISD later made erroneous claims that officials had influenced the outcome, which was anlyzed by UIL officials and deemed a fair outcome with no conflict of interest.

One of the classic victories in PN-G’s long football history, it serves as a reminder that in Texas high school football, and life, great adversity can be overcome, and dreams can always come true.
