Indians Win Slugfest Over La Porte 49-35

Port Neches-Groves defeated LaPorte 49-35 in an offensive slugfest.

The PN-G running back duo of Blair Chatagnier and Tyson Henry combined for 363 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Senior Chatagnier had 21 rushes for 209 yards, a 9.95 yard per carry average, and 2 touchdowns.

Sophomore Henry carried the ball 15 times for 157 yards, one touchdown and a 10.47 average.

LaPorte’s offense, led by Tyresse Barnes (243 rushing yards), kept fighting but couldn’t overcome PNG’s dominance.

Key defensive plays for the Indians included Seth Brisboe’s interception return for a touchdown early in the second half, which extended PNG’s lead.

PN-G (3-0) remains undefeated this season and heads into district play against the Montgomery Lake Creek Lions (2-1) on October 27, a rematch of last seasons regional semifinal playoff game.
